My philosophy, values & principles

I am fascinated by natural processes and believe in the intelligence of our bodies and all living systems.

I don’t believe that the body turns against itself. Symptoms are not random or self-destructive—they’re meaningful messengers that something is out of balance and can be part of the body’s natural detoxification and healing response. Sometimes preventative testing can reveal these early messages, pointing us toward deeper layers of imbalance.

This is what functional medicine calls a root cause—the underlying factors that are driving your symptoms or illness and took your body out of balance. In my opinion, there is rarely just one root cause. Root causes exist in layers across multiple domains, often reaching beyond biological imbalances.

These root causes create consistent stress signals that interfere with our natural biochemistry, particularly through dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system and HPA axis—a pattern I see in nearly all chronic conditions.

I work from the understanding that everything in the body is interconnected—not just anatomically, but also biochemically, energetically, emotionally, and spiritually. The systems of the body don’t operate in isolation, and neither should our healing approaches.

My approach is terrain-based, meaning I don’t chase symptoms but instead focus on the inner environment—supporting it so the body becomes more capable of healing. When we create the right conditions, healing happens not through force, but through nature.

This is the body’s innate self-healing capacity. My role is to help identify what’s blocking that ability and to gently support the body in shifting back toward balance. This might involve titrated, incremental support: small, intentional “pushes” that the body can handle without overwhelm (!). When we give the body what it’s truly missing, whether that’s nutrients, regulation, or energetic support, it knows how to rebuild, detoxify, and restore.

  • Everything that happens in our biology first happens in the electromagnetic field around our body.

While we need to address our emotions, energy, and mental structures to truly heal, a holistic approach cannot only be top-down:

Emotions can cause physical issues, but you also have to work on the physical to release the emotional. Working on the physical can mean accessing the autonomic nervous system through, for example, bodywork modalities. In my work I primarily work on the physical in the domain of the biochemical while always incorporating the other domains as needed. This makes my approach truly holistic.

  • All human bodies follow the same basic biological principles and systems, which represent physiological forces that exist in everyone. But these universal forces express themselves uniquely in every individual. How the biological systems interact differs for each individual, and they create unique patterns in how each body functions and responds.

In Western medicine, these differences are primarily attributed to genetics, which form our genetic blueprint and shape our inherent physical and mental tendencies.

Similarly, Ayurveda describes Prakriti as a person’s unique constitution—an innate, holistic 'genetic profile' that you are born with, which includes not just the body, but also the mind and spirit.

Epigenetics can be seen as a second layer on top of this inherited foundation: lifestyle and environmental factors that influence how our genes are expressed or how our constitution is affected. Our biology is not fixed but responsive to how we live.

I work based on your unique genetic blueprint and your individual constitution that are filtered through your specific epigenetic factors. That’s what I call the principle of bio-individuality.

  • Together, we will explore the path to more well-being for you, but you are the one who holds the key to your health.

My goal is to empower you to take an active role in your own health and not to give your power away to another person or system.

For you to be able to have control and autonomy over your own health, you need:

    • Refined sensitivity to what’s happening within and around you

    • Understanding of your body’s physical signals

    • Being attuned to your intuition and energy

    • knowledge about basic biological mechanisms

    • Knowledge about treatment options and effects

I'm here to support you in cultivating and strengthening these skills so you can step into full sovereignty over your well-being. This cultivates a deep trust in your body and mind’s ability to heal and thrive.

Together we will seek out the information, treatments, or therapies that resonate with your body and your values. Your full sovereignty can include rejecting treatments, therapies, and interventions that I recommend. You decide; you know your body best.

Methods & substances

Next to natural healing methods, I work with natural substances—those the body recognizes, accepts, and knows how to work with. These are remedies rooted in nature, minimally processed, and aligned with the body’s innate intelligence.

By choosing what is biologically compatible, I aim to aid and guide the body in the direction of its self-healing capacity.

My goal is to always reach a point where no substances are needed at all. But unfortunately, given the world we live in, that ideal is not always realistic.

I also recognize that there are moments when synthetic substances or pharmaceuticals are necessary. They can serve a valuable role in a holistic treatment. However, they are not my first choice because they always disrupt the body’s balance and always have side effects.

Reducing exposure to harmful substances—not only in what we use for healing but in everyday life—is a big part of my work. From the food we eat and the water we drink, to the air we breathe and the products we put on our skin, everything we ingest or absorb influences our health.

By reducing the toxic load, we give the body space to regulate, detoxify, and restore balance. This is not about fear, but about empowerment—making informed, intentional choices that support long-term vitality.
